Lacey Blissit grew up in Georgetown, Texas, and graduated from Georgetown High School in 2002. She competed as a softball student-athlete in various levels of competition, including select (Gold), NJCAA and NCAA-Division I. Coach Blissit competed on a full scholarship at the University of Texas - Arlington and Hill College. She was a starter and team captain in all four years of her collegiate career and earned several academic and athletic awards, including NCAA Southland Conference All-Academic Catcher, Super Scholar Athlete Award and NJCAA Academic All-American. In 2007, Coach Blissit began her teaching career as an English teacher and softball/basketball coach at Colleyville Heritage High School in Grapevine-Colleyville I.S.D.
In 2012, Coach Blissit became the head softball coach at Rouse High School, and her husband, Jonathan, accepted a teaching/coaching position at the feeder middle school in L.I.S.D. Under her leadership, the Rouse Softball program qualified for post-season competition in U.I.L. playoffs at the 4A, 5A and 6A levels, advancing to the 4A Regional Quarterfinals in 2014 and winning the 2017 District 19-5A Championship. Coach Blissit has had the privilege of coaching several athletes who have received athletic scholarships to collegiate softball programs, including Texas State University, University of Texas-Arlington, University of North Carolina - Charlotte, Texas Lutheran University, TAMU - Kingsville, University of Houston, Texas Southern University and various DIII, junior college and NAIA schools. Coach Blissit enjoys spending time with her family and friends and traveling. Her greatest joy is being a wife and a mother to her two daughters, Kaylee and Ava. Coach Blissit is proud to call Georgetown her hometown and excited to give back to the community at Georgetown High School. Eagle Fight Never Dies!
